V for ... ?

So i wrote this "review" on V For Vendetta some weeks ago, and i finally managed to bring it somewhere other than just my blog: http://www.inmediahk.net/public/article?item_id=105447&group_id=59 Inmedia is a independent news source in Hong Kong that allows theoretically anyone who can access internet to post articles, which serves a very important function 'cause it allows a new breed of so-called "Citizen Jounralists" to interact on a neutral platform. For instance, they have a really series of inside, "alternative" reports on the activist works during the WTO Ministerial Conference in December 05, which could not be seen in mainstream media in Hong Kong, where most media corps are profit-driven and tend to entertainmentize the news. (This entertainmentization might be due to various reasons; more on this in future...) Just a side note: even though V for Vendetta was awesome, somehow it just wasn't as good as the first Matrix. I don't know exactly why, but could be because when i watched the Matrix i was only 16, and now i tend to think differently when i watch movies.

yo this is too cool for school: i need to look for this kind of thing in the 514. but it takes guts to put your ideas out there...
i wonder if the Brothers have read giorgio agamben. i haven't seen the movie yet (once exams permit, i will), but do you think the "average consumer" would be able to "see" or engage in all these issues that you talk about?

i don't wanna assume the average consumers haven't heard about biopolitics or read about Agamben. But that's why i wrote what i wrote right? in fact, i don't know how the people who visit that site will take this article, as it might be a little too "radical" but i talked to the editors before and they said they welcome anything that would stimulate philosophical discussion. so i just tried to do my part, to tell them what i think and start from there. i think that's the point of the movie too.
thank you the support, i mean, really. after all, i wouldn't have been able to write all these if i had never been to a cool place like 514.
